Congratulations to Mike and Stephanie Heritage! My best friend Stephanie got married today and I've been having flashbacks all day to when I got married 4 years ago!! So much planning and it's over in a blink of an eye...what a special day it was, though!

A few highlights...

*Stephanie's dress!!! This had to be one of the most beautiful dresses I've EVER seen, and the bride certainly matched up with her dress...she was positively glowing today!

*The ceremony...Jeff Wall, this was one of your best...and he recovered so well when Steph's poor cousin fainted and almost fell off the stage!! It was quickly remedied and she was fine...but just a piece of advice...if you're in a wedding EAT LUNCH and DON'T LOCK YOUR KNEES!!! :)

*Hailey!! She was sooo good today...it was such a long day and she was such a trooper! And she sure looked cute in her little dress!!

Being a new mom certainly throws a wrench in the consistent blogging...not that I was very good at it before, but you get the drift...Let me summarize the last few weeks for you...

Went to the doctor and found out that Hailey had been losing weight...he's VERY concerned, and sent us to have an ultrasound done of her stomach to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with her digestive tract...fortunately it looked fine, so the consencus is that after taking Sudafed for several days to deal with a sinus headache, it was drying up my milk!!! Anyone who is or will be nursing their baby and wants to do so very long, DO NOT TAKE SUDAFED!! It will cause you to have to take prescription drugs, feed EVERY 3 hours (even at night), and pump to suplement after every feeding...let me just say that every 3 hours means start the next feeding 3 hours after BEGINNING the previous one...when it takes you an hour and a half to nurse, bottle-feed and pump, it doesn't give much time for other things...like sleep or showers!!

It is encouraging to have been to the doctor yesterday and find out that she's gained 6 ounces this week and now weighs 9lbs, 12oz. Hopefully it's all going to be good from here...but I'm waiting for the doc to tell me I can stop with the night feedings!! :)

2. We had a lovely bridal shower for my best friend Stephanie on Sunday...it was tons of fun, and I only hope it blessed her socks off! Two weeks from Saturday I'll be the matron of honor in their wedding and I can't wait!!! :)

Gosh, that's all...see?? My life's pretty simple...just being a mom... :)

2 Months Old Today...

I can't believe that my little baby is 2 months old today!! I can't decide if I'm happy or sad about it...I think a little of both!

We had her 2 month appointment on Tuesday and she's perfectly healthy...she weighs 9lbs, 8oz and is 22 3/8 inches long...all of her measurements are in the 25th percentile! Who'd have thought she'd end up being a fairly small baby? :) The doctor thinks she has a bit of acid reflux, so we've been trying a new medicine that seems to be helping. The WORST part of the appointment was the SHOTS!! She screamed and cried (I cried a little, too) and then had a little fever and didn't feel good for the next couple of days, but I think she's better now!

It's so cliche of a mom to say they grow so fast, but seriously...THEY GROW UP SO FAST!! Where has the last two months go?? :)

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of when my dad drank the dreaded Moss Killer!! We have so much to be thankful for...

1. My dad can eat...it wasn't looking so good for a while...

2. He can speak...this thank you is a bit debatable...if you know my dad you'll understand :)

3. Our dad can still take incredible care of us...if he wasn't here, who would fix our computers or wash our cars??

4. Cheesy jokes and emails...no one can search the internet and find the gems that he does...although, I must admit...sometimes the laughs are more for courtesy than anything else!

5. THIS INCREDIBLE CHEESECAKE!! Thanks to my cousin Aimee who sent this to my dad from New York...I can imagine that New York cheesecake from New York will be the best we've ever had!!!

We had the most fun first birthday party this weekend for my niece Gabby...she was precious and it was so nice to see so many people to celebrate this occasion! :) I'm so spoiled, because I've spent the last week seeing Gabby EVERY DAY!! I'm the luckiest auntie in the world!

I was just reminiscing about one month ago tonight...I was still HUGE and awaiting the birth of my beautiful baby girl...let's just say that since that night, I haven't had much sleep!! :) I really can't believe that she's a month old tomorrow...time sure flies!!

3 Weeks?!?

It's so hard to believe that just 3 short weeks ago I laid awake almost all night anticipating the arrival of my daughter!! On one hand it seems like just yesterday, but on the other hand, Hailey fits so well into our little family it's as though she's always been there! Don't get me wrong, Todd and I are both severely sleep deprived, everything takes 5 times longer, and our little girl has chosen the evening as her "fussy time", but would I trade it?? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!! Every hardship is completely worth it every time I look at her sweet face...

For those of you who will become parents someday, here's a few survival tips I've come across...

1. Coldplay X&Y and Sade Lover's Rock...very soothing music that's perfect for baby, but not annoying baby music!
2. Mylicon!! It's a very gentle gas relief medicine for babies that also tastes good for her, so when she's crying so hard she won't keep the binkie in, guess what?? A little drop of this yummy stuff does the trick!!
3. The bouncy seat...if you're a mother and EVER want another shower, this does the trick...place right outside the tub and let the baby chill!
4. Phels Naptha...this is a stain removal bar of soap that seriously gets ANYTHING out!! I'm talking baby poop that's set in for a few days...rub the bar on the item with a little water and voila!! It's gone...AND it's only like, a buck and some change!!
5. The Miracle Blanket...this thing is like a baby straight jacket and it works wonders!! Not only does it wrap the baby up into a little burrito, but it puts your mind at ease when they're asleep in their own bed...take my word for it...they WILL NOT get out, so there's no way they will kick their blankets into their face and suffocate or anything... :) Don't laugh...I've been told these types of irrational fears are perfectly normal when you become a mom... :)

Now if we can just get moved and settle into some sort of a routine, we'll be all set!! (Or at least I think... :)

Well, here I am on day 13 of being a Mommy and I can tell you that I absolutely love it!! Even the sleepless nights and stinky diapers! I truly feel like I was made to be a mom...although we'll go through tough times, this is the most rewarding job I've ever had!

In other news, WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!! I got home on Saturday afternoon to a message from a guy on the answering machine saying, "I want to buy your house!" I called him back and before he'd even looked at it, his real estate agent was faxing over an offer! We close in 2 weeks, but he's giving us an additional week to get moved since we've got to get the other house done first...he sent over a full price offer with his agent's commission on top of it! Wow, God is good! We've been a little stressed with the whole 2 mortgages, but as always, God took care of it!

Please continue to pray for our little family...especially as we move very soon!! :)

Our baby girl is well! After having her in her bili bed for 15 hours yesterday and this morning (PURE TORTURE WHEN YOU JUST WANT TO SNUGGLE HER!!) and after the nurse came and took her blood they called and said, "Take her off the lights, her bili level has dropped to 13!!". :) I can't even tell you how fast I ripped her out of that silly bed and squeezed her in my arms!! As you can see, Hailey's daddy was very anxious to nap with his "precious girl", as he calls her... :)

Thank you again for all your prayers...and for those of you holding off on calling to meet our sweet Hailey, please feel free!! :)

So here we are, day 5 with baby Hailey...

Today the nurse came out and tested her bili levels and they'd raised up to 18...they aren't alarmed and think maybe because of the long day yesterday at the hospital away from the lights may have not helped anything. We've kept her on the lights RELIGIOUSLY today and hope that tomorrow's results will bring good news and relief! I just can't wait to hold my baby ALL DAY!! :)

A big thank you to everyone who has been praying for our little family...this has been a really tough time, but the Lord is giving Todd and I the strength to make it through each day!

Our First Days...

On Thursday afternoon we brought our precious little baby girl Hailey home for the first time. This has to be the best time of our lives! We waited and prayed and begged the Lord for her and here she is...

On Friday we took her to her very first doctor's appointment where after examining her we were told we had a healthy baby, however she looked like she may have some jaundice so we were sent to the lab at St. Francis to have her blood taken. We got the call on Friday night that here biliruben levels were at 17.5, a bit high and they were sending a nurse to our house to hook Hailey up to a blue light bed for the night. Of course this seemed alarming, but we tried to take it in stride. The nurse noticed that in addition to being a little yellow colored, that she was also a bit dehydrated. This made sense because she's been having some trouble figuring out how to nurse.

After the nurse came Saturday morning and checked her blood, we got the call that we were dreading! We were told that her bili levels had raised to 20.2 and that they would need to admit her for light therapy at Mary Bridge. After many tears, we packed ourselves and baby up for a stay at the hospital.

We arrived and were sent to the ER for some evaluation, and after being examined by one of the doctors there they decided to test her bili levels again and evaluate how severe her condition and whether or not she really needed to stay or not...

PRAISE THE LORD!! After the very traumatic experience of holding my baby's head while she got an IV, the blood test came back and her bili level had dropped to 16!!! They gave her some IV fluids for about an hour and sent us home to do light therapy as we were before!

We still are praying that she begins to eat well, and that her bili levels continue to drop...it's VERY hard to have to put your baby on a light bed at all times other than when she eats!! I've waited so long to hold her and now I barely can!! :(

Thank you so much to everyone who has called and wanted to meet our little bundle...we wish she was well enough to meet everybody, but she just hasn't been...if all goes well, she should be able to entertain visitors sometime early next week... :)

Grandpa Buzz is filling in as the blogger while Jessica is in the hospital.

Hailey Lynn Yost has made her appearance! Here’s the “stats!”

Born: Tuesday 2/6/2007 at 6:12 p.m. (Birthday of President Ronald Reagan!)
Where: St. Francis Hospital.
Length: 20-1/2 inches
Weight: 8 pounds, 5-1/2 ounces.

Mom and Dad came through fine. Todd was able to give Hailey her “first bath” as many friends looked on. The nursing staff allowed the whole crowd (20+) to enter the nursery and take photos and watch as the new father took control!

It is expected that the new family will maybe come home tomorrow (Wednesday). They are in room #202 (253-835-8100).

I attached this photo (top) I took with my cell phone while Hailey was wrapping me around her little finger while laying on my lap! The other one was from the nursery just before her first bath.

Okay, here goes...

So, keep us in your prayers tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 6th) because I'm getting induced at 6 in the morning! I was feeling a little weird today, so I called the doctor's office to see if I could come in and get my blood pressure taken...I thought that would be the end of it, but my BP was a bit high, so the doctor has decided to induce me TOMORROW!!! I'm gonna meet my little girl TOMORROW!!! Can you tell I'm freaking out just a little??

I'm a bit nervous about being induced, but I trust that the doctor has made the best judgement call...he says it's more preventative than reactive, so that makes me feel better...she's all done cooking, I've already begun to dialate on my own, and my BP won't get better until she's out, so that's what we're gonna do!

I will do my best to keep everyone posted...and get pics of my sweet girl for all to see as soon as I can! :)

I am experiencing what my doctor calls the "baby still in blues". Every day seems like 4...the last few months have flown by, but for some reason the last week or so has seemed like an ETERNITY!! I'm so ready to meet my daughter already!!! Everything is ready for her arrival...everything has been washed, the pack'n'play is set up, the swing...we even have the carseat base installed in the car...NOW ALL WE NEED IS A BABY!!! :)

Everyone says when you're in labor "you'll know", but every time I have the slightest contraction or pain, I think to myself, "Is this it??" And alas...it is not!! Sleeping has become a joke (I guess God's way of preparing me for the upcoming sleepless nights), my legs, ankles and feet are so swollen that I feel like I'm looking at someone else's legs at times! Todd's new favorite game is "push really hard into my ankle and make a dent, then count how long it takes to look normal again". It's quite amusing for him...less for me.

I have 11 days left until my due date...as if that means anything anyways...my doctor is not opposed to inducing, so I do have that going for me...if I don't go on my own by my due date, he might be inclined to induce shortly thereafter. I'm voting for going naturally BEFORE my due date, though...but after Christy gets back from Hawaii (which is Sunday, I might add... :)

Well, pray that this little bundle comes out SOON!! Mommy is ready to hold her baby in her arms, not her tummy!!! :)

This afternoon my sister, cousin and a few dear friends threw me the most amazing baby shower I've ever been to...let alone been the guest of honor at!!! There were almost 70 people and the most outrageous pile of baby gifts I've ever seen...Hailey and I are so blessed! Let me just say THANK YOU to everyone who attended this event...I had a blast! It was so nice to see everyone, although with that many people I regret not being able to spend as much time with each person as I'd have liked to...

I just can't express the gratitude Todd and I feel for everyone who has prayed for and supported us as we embark on becoming parents for the first time...everyone means the world to us and we appreciate you so very much!!!

There really is nothing quite like feeling your baby move around inside your tummy...at first, you wait day and night just to feel a little flutter, and then soon flutters turn into kicks and then kicks turn into feeling your baby's body parts scooting around in there! I like to think as much as Hailey likes her little home in there, she desperately wants out so she can meet her family, so she is trying to burrow out my side! :) She's been quite active in there!!

What I really don't understand is how anyone who has experienced the miracle of pregnancy and childbirth can refuse to believe that there is a God who causes all of it! I mean, my baby has her own personality!! She can open her eyes and play inside there...she can smile and hear...some say they've even felt their baby move to the rhythm of the music when it's turned up!! I don't often listen to loud music, well...because I'm old, but it's still amazing to think that she can dance in there!!!

Oh, Hailey...we want you to come NOW!!! (Or more like in 5 weeks...but Daddy does NOT want you to try coming on Superbowl Sunday...that wouldn't be good... :)

Ummm...I have 38 days until this kid is due!! On one hand, I could use 138 more days to get the house ready, but on the other hand, I'm getting really ready to be DONE being preggers and just have her HERE!! I just want to hold my daughter and see what she looks like!

I had another doctor's appointment today and everything looks great! I am measuring a bit big, which the doctor says could mean the baby is big - but then that same doctor predicted the Tangens would have an 8 1/2-9 pound baby and Shayla was just over 7...

Anyhoo...sorry EVERY post seems to be about BABY...she's just on the forefront of my mind!! :)

So, we closed today on the new house we're buying, but when we went in to start doing a few things we started thinking about how bad it's gonna suck to live in the house while remodeling...so we decided to stay put and try and BUST the upstairs part of the remodel and try moving in at the end of January...stay tuned, however, because this could all change in a minute!! :)

We're completely nuts...

Doesn't it seem like there's so much planning and preparation for Christmas, and then it just flies by? Every conversation starts with "Are you done shopping yet?" or "What do you have planned for the holidays?" and now, it's just Tuesday...our last few days were filled with family time and eating...and eating, and eating, and eating...at least this year I got to wear stretchy pants!?! :)

Now that Christmas is over, I have to think about moving!! I'm trying really hard not to be overwhelmed by it, but it's a bit tough...a big THANK YOU to everyone who has offered their packing services...I will probably be giving you a call early next week so we can start loading up our life and taking it to the new house...

I never thought it made much sense to get attached to a house, but I understand now...here I'm leaving my house that is painted just how I like it, every room is perfectly furnished and finished looking, only to move into a house that we're basically gutting to make it what we want...wow...I need to stop thinking about it!! :)

So last night was our Christmas gathering with Todd's extended family on his mom's side. There are three married cousins about our age, so needless to say it's a good time whenever we get together. Also, Todd's parents and aunt and uncle were in attendance. We ate lasagna, chatted, laughed...such a good time. We also had a "White Elephant Style" $10 gift card exchange. Everyone drew their numbers and the fun began...

The first to draw was Todd's cousin's wife, Abby...she carefully chooses and opens the first envelope...low and behold...it's a gift card to the LOVER'S PACKAGE!!! Let me also remind you of the presence of Todd's parents and Aunt and Uncle...Everyone laughs awkwardly and we move on...we all take turns drawing and it comes back to Abby...now we will go around the circle and people can trade one time around...Abby wisely trades her gift card away for MY FATHER-IN-LAW'S Blockbuster card...yes...and Eric slyly comments, "I don't know if there's anything there that will fit me." AAAAHHHHH...I'M IN MY HAPPY PLACE, I'M IN MY HAPPY PLACE...

It's now Eric's turn to trade, and he gives his LOVER'S PACKAGE gift card to Jeremy (another cousin) in exchange for his Red Robin gift card...everything is now right in the world...Until...

It comes to Uncle Larry's turn...he carefully scans the room for what he will trade for...Blockbuster card?? Coldstone card?? McDonald's card?? Nope...HE TAKES THE LOVER'S PACKAGE CARD AND SAYS TO AUNT CAREY, "The whip is only 8 bucks..."

OH, MY MIND IS PERMANENTLY SCARRED WITH A MENTAL PICTURE THAT I CAN'T GET RID OF!!

How does the time fly? It seems like this season just goes by faster and faster each year! Thankfully, however, I strategized and have almost all of my shopping done...one last trip tomorrow afternoon with my sister and I'll be good to go! AND I have 8 weeks left until I get to hold my little baby Hailey! I am so ready to see her, but I have so much to do before she comes...(i.e. Christmas, moving, setting up her entire nursery, getting all of my baby essentials - so far the only essentials I've purchased are pink clothing items...oops)

Just pray that all gets done...however I can't think of a better time to move into a new house than when you're NESTING!! :)

We're moving!!! Yeah, I know what you're thinking...I'm 31 weeks pregnant and must be completely NUTS...but, there's a method to this madness, I swear!! :) We found a house that has extra property so we can sub-divide and build another house. The existing house also needs some work, but as you know my husband is quite handy and will be able to do most all of the work himself...luckily, the main living parts of the house are done and don't need much...just the basement needs to be completed and the kitchen will need to be completely gutted and re-done at some point...also, the house needs siding...DUH!! We can handle that...Todd is a siding contractor!! :)

So, we're also taking on the task of selling our house by owner...if you know anyone who needs a very cute house in Federal Way, send them our direction!! :)

Pray for us...we've got lots going on right now!!!

My 28-Week Appointment

I went in for what I thought would be a routine doctor's appointment...I mean, I've had them every month since I found out I was pregnant. Went in, hid my eyes while they weighed me, and went to the ladies room to give a urine sample. Just as I sat down to "do my deal", THE FIRE ALARM GOES OFF!! I quickly get myself decent, open the door, and the nurses are frantically running around getting people out of the building. 15 minutes later, the fire truck came...I don't mean to bust on the fire department or anything, but 15 minutes?? Good thing there was no fire...apparently when the people were there to install a new heating system, they spilled oil on it and it was creating a smell in the heating ducts, therefore setting off the alarm. Another 15 minutes later we were all ushered back into the office to resume life as usual.

I got situated in my room and the nurse came to take my blood pressure...WEIRD...IT WAS HIGH!! She took it again at the end of my appointment and apparently I had just had too much excitement and it caused a rise in my BP. It was all good at the end of the appointment.

As for my daughter...she's PERFECT...heart beating normal, moving around, and the doctor could tell what position she's in!! It was very exciting...I finally know what is kicking and punching where!! :)

I've now upgraded to appointments every 2 weeks!! It's getting close, people!

Well, I only hope your day is as exciting as mine...and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! :)

My brother-in-law Aaron and his Canadian sense of humor just played the most WRONG trick on me in the history of the UNIVERSE!! He's a pilot and travels a lot, and frequently finds himself in odd places. This morning he calls to tell me "the most exciting story"...He tells me that last night he was in Wilmington, NC where they shoot One Tree Hill and he went to the set and met Chad Michael Murray (SOOO cute!!) and that he told Chad about how I was in love with him and the show (blah, blah, blah...). He also told me that coming soon there was a car accident and an injured cheerleader...NEEDLESS TO SAY, my sister-in-law Lisa called this afternoon to let me know that her husband is full of CRAP!!!

Why am I so gullible??

Can I even tell you how fantastic it was going to visit Aaron, Lisa and GABBY!! She is seriously the CUTEST! We flew into NC on Thursday, drove to Myrtle Beach on Friday, drove home on Sunday and then flew home to Seattle on Monday. Thank the Lord that we got on the plane...we were flying on Aaron's buddy passes (THANKS SO MUCH, by the way...) and the flight was FULL when we checked it on Monday morning...God is good...8 passengers on a connecting flight were late getting there so we got on the plane!! :)

Well, tomorrow we're off to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit Aaron, Lisa and GABBY!! We're so very excited to see them, see their house and spend some time at the beach! (We're driving over to Myrtle Beach for the weekend) Don't miss us too much! Don't be jealous that we get to spend the weekend with our ADORABLE niece (who is already 7 months old!!!!!)

Baby Yost Updates

So, I'm now almost 6 months pregnant!! Can you even believe it? The baby moves ALL THE TIME!!! I notice it the most when I'm laying down, but she moves a ton...Todd even felt her move the other night! :) He was really excited about it...he's gonna be such a good dad.

The biggest baby news of all is that she has a name!!!! Hailey Lynn Yost...I'm so excited...unless the Lord comes to both of us and reveals another name He has planned for her, this is it! Now I can't wait (even more than before) to meet her!!!! :)

Camping...Such Fun!!

What a weekend! We went camping at Steamboat Rock State Park on Banks Lake in Eastern Washington this weekend and it was awesome! We went boating and watched the boys jump off cliffs...roasted marshmallows on a real campfire...played a few games of "Mafia"...slept in tents...neglected to shower for days at a time...GOOD TIMES!!

For the longest time I've just been so excited to know the sex of the baby, but I found myself really nervous last night and this morning just to make sure that the baby has all the right valves in its heart and that the measurements would be normal...I'm sure it's normal to worry a little bit, but I think Todd thinks I'm CRAZY!! I'll just feel so much better when the tech tells me that I have a normal and healthy looking baby...AND I'll know what it is!!! :)

I was at a Women's Weekend at Malibu (one of Young Life's most BEAUTIFUL properties), laying on my stomach on my bunk bed and all of the sudden began feeling little flutters...kind of like a little spider was crawling around inside my tum-tum...it was awesome...now every time I lay on my stomach the baby moves around...it's probably trying to say, "MOM!! Get off!! You're squishing me!!" :)

God is so good and I still have to pinch myself that this miracle is ours!!!!

So, I had my 4-Month appointment today and as my doctor was checking the heartbeat of the baby we kept hearing all these scratchy noises...Dr. Snyder goes, "Wow...you have a very active baby...those scratches are your baby moving...and it sure likes to move!!"

Now if only I could feel it, too!!! :)

By the way, it's the size of an avacado...

P.S. I find out what I'm having on September 19th!!!!!!! Only 3 weeks away, but it might be the longest 3 weeks OF MY LIFE!! :)

My sister-in-law just had a baby girl yesterday! Her name is Gabriella Marie Fry and she was 6 lbs, 6 ounces. She's healthy and perfect and I couldn't be happier for Aaron & Lisa (her parents, obviously). Pray for them as they bring home their daughter soon! :)

Right, so I haven't posted anything since Christmas, and here it is the end of February...we've had 3 holidays since my last post!!! New Year's, Christy's Birthday, and Valentine's Day...

For Christy's B-Day we were supposed to go to the Melting Pot, but we got there and the power was out...how rude!! No phone call even?? It turned out okay, because we went to the RockBottom Brewery...very fun...didn't partake in their signature "Liquid Sunshine" though...not good to be drinkin' when you're trying to have babies, I guess.

Then the next day the bad luck continued with the world's WORST Superbowl EVER!!!! The Hawks got SCREWED, if you want to know what I thought about it...the T Man said it best, though...

After that Valentine's Day came...Todd got me beautiful flowers and I made him dinner...then we watched MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF 24, our newest obsession...I'll blog about that later...it deserves it's own.

Other than that, not much going on...we're just gearing up for our 3rd Anniversary coming up in two weeks!!! I can't believe we've been married that long...geeze...

So, I know that I'm like, the world's WORST blogger...I need to make this a part of my routine. Not much has gone on in my life to speak of, though...just working hard to get stuff ready for Christmas and working on the plans for our horrific remodel! I'm really starting to think we're going to need to move out of our house for a while...since we're going to have to rip the roof off and stuff...

Todd and I have successfully completed 3 months of working together...and we're both still ticking! Isn't that good? Okay, let's be honest...he works, I play... :)

Young Life is officially on pause until the end of January...a much needed break from planning club, but I miss spending time with my girls...I will have to call them soon...

Todd's broken finger is finally healed enough to take the cast off! Thank goodness...the stench of the cast was making it hard to get a full night's sleep...you take for granted so many of the little things...like taking showers without Saran Wrap on your arm! :) Now he just has to work on being able to make a fist and he'll be all set!

Well, this is beginning to sound a lot like one of those Christmas Letters, so I'll sign off for now...

So, it started as what seemed to be a normal trip to the grocery store...soon thereafter, I learned that Todd is a complete and total psychopath! He's walking out of the grocery store singing, "Do You Believe" by CHER...in a "Cher-esque" very high voice!! The best thing ever was when we were getting into our car and a man sitting in another car got out and said, "Tell him that's the exact song that was runnin' through my head!!" Since when do men think about Cher songs???

We then get home and he starts singing "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi...VERY LOUDLY!!! My neighbors aren't going to let their kids roam the streets after that one...

I should have been warned that he was so "talented"...

Right...so last night (Friday Night) we had a pre-birthday celebration for Stephanie. We kind of didn't have a plan, so Steph, Jen and I were at my house hanging out. Steph decides that her birthday wish is to go out to the "Yella Beak" in Enum-scratch and meet up with Amanda, The Asian Panda. Seriously, for those of you who have never been to this establishment, you're not missing much!!! Unless you want to get picked up by seemingly 12-year old guys and play horseshoes in the back of the bar. We get there and immediately notice a girl who we soon named "The Dirty Cowgirl". Let me explain...she was wearing a t-shirt purchased at Baby Gap, a large belt buckle holding up the jeans that were spray-painted on her body, a white cowboy hat, practically giving the DJ a lapdance and then grinding on every other guy in the bar!!! I am so over this bar scene, by the way...I only will continue to visit such establishments if I am running out of blogging material!!!

Let me just finish by saying we didn't spend more than an hour there and left saying, "We're so too old for this!!!"

Boating At Night...

NOT something I would recommend to ANYONE!!! So, we set out on a journey on Monday night and took my parents and sister Alicia to Lake Washington. A sad feeling crept over me as I realized that our family outing would NOT be complete without Chris/ty. We decided to drive the boat "20 minutes" across the lake from Coulon to Magnesan Park. We picked up the newlyweds and ate dinner on Lake Union...fun times...but our waitress needed to PULL HER PANTS UP!!! She had some serious crack showing...not a good look!! Anyhoo...we sat around chatting a little too long and it began to get dark...by the time we dropped off Chris/ty back at the park, we ended up driving across Lake Washington in the DARK!!! Rather scary, I might say, but Bill Gates' house looks AWESOME in the dark all lit up. We successfully made it in one piece...next time we'll leave earlier.

Girls Night Out!!

Why on earth do girls insist on dressing up to go to a Mariner's Game??? I don't know, but we did... :) High heels, cute jeans, and cement stairs don't mix, however we all got through it okay. Then after we realized that they were in the 6th inning and none of us had stopped chatting long enough to watch ANY of the game we went across the street to the Pyramid Brewery. We're talking, laughing, and Steph comments on how much of a "crack up" she is...out of NOWHERE some lady wearing a "Miami Vice" white blazer (complete with LARGE shoulder pads and the sleeves rolled up) comes around the booth and says, "Did someone call for a CRACK WHORE???" We all sat there perplexed (as anyone would, I'm sure) and said absolutely nothing to her. Needless to say, it was the most bizzare part of our evening...

Well, we'll have to do it again soon.

So, the other day this cute title rep comes into our real estate office. He asks me if I'd had my coffee yet today and I inform him that if I hadn't had my coffee my eyes would be held open with toothpicks. He proceeds to attempt this total "stud" move and flings a Starbucks card on my desk...at the same time his arm brushes across three plastic business card holders and dumps them into the fountain in front of my desk. Let me inform you that several business cards stick to the rocks in the fountain!!! His face immediately turns red and he begins to hurriedly pick them up. Poor guy...he was MORTIFIED!! I swiftly run to his aid and proceed to sort out the mess of cards.

Moral of the story: DON'T TRY TO BE STUDLY, OR YOU'LL LOOK LIKE A TERD!!

Anyone else feeling a bit under the weather due to the latest bout of SUN??? Seriously, I'm very ill and would benefit greatly from an entire day laying in my back yard...and sleeping of course...this condition is highly contagious, so seriously, I should NOT be around my co-workers today...or anyone for that matter...I would hate to infect my entire office...all I need is the rest of today and ALL of tomorrow, and I should be healed in time to participate in all of the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend festivities...

I'm proud to say that although I am 25 years old (and supposed to be mature and all) that I still watch "trash tv" on Tuesdays...and boy was last night intense. Will her time in rehab really help Deb with her addiction to pain killers??? So, my soon-to-be-married sister Christy had an "Ooh, La, La" shower over the weekend, so naturally I had to go to that dirty store right by Southcenter Mall to get her some scandalous gifts. Why did I go in and bump into this obviously naturally male tranny being walked through all of the different types of NIPPLE PASTIES!!! Needless to say, I was mortified...but kept shopping, of course...As I turn the corner, there's a dude trying on red patent leather platform stripper shoes!!! The scariest part...THEY HAD HIS SIZE!!! Ay, Carumba!! What an interesting day...

Other than that, my life has been pretty boring lately...thank you to my sister for giving me something to write about!!! :)

Right...so I was just on the phone with a business here at work and the dude on the phone called me MA'AM!!! Oh, I feel so old...not "miss", "lady", "hey you"??? Ma'am... This "phobia" all started when I began to worry that all my Young Life kids see me like I used to see my YL leaders...there was this one guy named Gary who wore a fanny pack, white tube socks and AQUA SOCKS (all at the same time)!!! Do you even remember those??? I think he lived in fear that at any moment he could get lost in the woods (and need the items conveniently stored in his fanny pack) or fall off of a bridge and need to swim/walk to the shore (the only good place to wear aqua socks)!!!

If any of you witness me wearing something rediculous, I now give you my permission to ridecule me until I've learned my lesson...not too much to ask, I think.
